Nashe Dan, founder of urAfro

From the founder

Hi, I'm Nashe Dan.

I built urAfro after watching friends in Harare run real businesses out of WhatsApp screenshots and exercise-book ledgers — losing orders, forgetting who paid, re-typing the same product list every week.

urAfro keeps what already works (your phone, your customers, WhatsApp) and adds the parts that were missing: a shop link you share once, an order list you can actually search, and a record of every payment — cash, EcoCash, or owed.

I'm building this solo and I read every email. If something's broken or missing for your shop, tell me directly.

Frequently asked

Do I need a WhatsApp Business account to use urAfro?

No. A regular WhatsApp number on your phone is enough. urAfro just gives you a shareable shop link you paste into your existing chats and status.

What does it cost?

Free during the pilot. We'll keep a generous free tier for small shops after that, with paid plans only when you outgrow it.

Does it work on 2G or slow data?

Yes — pages are kept deliberately light for Zimbabwean networks. Customers on edge connections can still browse and order.

Can my customers pay with EcoCash?

Yes. You record EcoCash, cash, or "owes me" against every order, so you always know who has paid and who still owes you.

Who's behind urAfro?

urAfro is built solo in Harare by Nashe Dan. Email him directly at nashe@urafro.com — he reads every message.

Can I cancel and export my data?

Yes, anytime. Your products, customers and orders are yours — export them whenever you want.
